Who are we?

Kennel Mirozzie is run by me, Pia Sofie Nilsen, with good help from my partner Jørgen Suul. We live in Verdal, Norway. The kennel name Mirozzie was registered in January 2018 with me as the proprietor. The kennel name is inspired by my first Stabyhoun, Rozzie. The first two letters of the name are taken from my first dog Mischa. Mischa was a kind and obedient German Shepherd with a heart of gold. Unfortunately, she had many health problems, partly due to bad breeding, and did not get older than 8 years. This became a great motivation to learn more about breeding dogs

I have many years of experience with dogs and a great interest in hunting. I have been active with a dog since the family acquired an Irish Setter in 2000, and have had a dog myself since 2007. In 2014, the interest in hunting with a bird dog started to register. Choice of breed had already been made several years back, when the magazine Dog Sports had a breed presentation of Stabyhoun. In the summer of 2014, I was a happy owner of my first Stabijhoun, and was finally able to start hunting with my own bird dog. I quickly found out that this was a breed I want to bet on, so it didn’t take long before I acquired my second Stabyhoun.

Here at home, the dogs have plenty of room to frolic as almost the entire 850 square meter yard is fenced. There are many and varied hiking opportunities in the immediate vicinity, and only a short drive to good hunting grounds..

I work closely with other breeders in the breed community, and I have memberships in the Swedish Stabyhoun Club. You can read more about what I find important in my breeding here.
